All Celebrations for Darwin, Science and Humanity to take place on/or near February 12th, 2011, will be placed below.

By 2011 schoolbooks will probably have an adequate coverage of evolution, but we will still need to educate adults who missed out on evolution in their education. Perhaps materials that show the connection between evolutionary principles and the rapid advances in biotechnology-based medicine will attract adult learners.

Eric Scott, Curator of Paleontology for the San Bernardino County Museum, will present a public lecture titled "Fossils in Transition: Darwin's 'missing links'". Scott will discuss the concept of transitional forms in the fossil record, will review some of the better-known examples of "missing links" while explaining why this term is outdated, and will address criticisms of evolutionary theory based upon the supposed lack of these forms.
